Sheet Cakes

I had 2 sheet cakes to deliver last week, I didn't get a picture of the first one, but it wasn't anything too fancy, it was 1/2 white and 1/2 chocolate cake with white frosting and green borders and inscription.

The second cake was a half sheet cake for a lady named Vivian who was turning 95 years young. I was asked to do pink and yellow roses on the cake, and since I am a huge chicken shit when it comes to doing flowers from frosting, I opted to learn how to do roses out of fondant. It was pretty easy and hopefully I will learn much more at a class in April! I think they look pretty darn good for this being the first time I tried to do this! I won't hesitate at all the next time I am asked to do roses!!

Transformer Cake

I got my second order to ship... and it worked just as well this time as it did last time!!! I am, so far, VERY happy with UPS handling my packages without dropping them too much and getting everything to their destinations in one piece.

This order is for people that I know very well, so I REALLY wanted it to turn out right. Weston (or his dad, I'm not really sure who wanted it more...) wanted a cake with Bumblebee from the Transformer movie on it. All of the pics I found online had TONS and TONS of detail, and I knew I wouldn't be able to do this one the same as the Handy Manny cake, so I cut out the outline of the character out of fondant, and used my really cool food color markers to draw Bumblebee. Which is a huge success for me since I'm not all that artistic when it comes to the drawing. But I must say that if I have a picture right next to me to refer to every 2 seconds, I don't do too bad!

This was a lemon cake with lemon filling, and was egg free! Covered and decorated in fondant.
